Before the first pile is driven, someone has to find out what is actually down there. That has been our only job for a decade.
Started with one rig and a stubborn belief.
That belief was simple. Too many buildings in Pakistan were being founded on assumption, on what the neighbouring plot did, or on a report nobody had checked.
Soil Investigation Services was set up in Karachi to change that for the projects we touch. We began with borehole drilling and standard penetration testing, added a materials laboratory, then invested in electronic cone penetration testing when almost nobody in the private sector here was running it.
Today we run field crews and a laboratory that between them cover fifteen disciplines, from a simple foundation investigation for a three storey building to bridge foundations, industrial plants and hospital projects. More than two thousand investigations later, the belief has not changed.

The method as written
If a test says 30 minutes of soaking, it gets 30 minutes. Shortcuts in the laboratory become cracks on site.
Numbers we will defend
Every value in a report can be traced to a sample, an instrument and a calibration record.
Everyone goes home
Boreholes are backfilled, spoil is cleared, and no crew member works without the right protection.
